Capitulo XXX "Recuerdos”

Parte II

A la mañana siguiente, me había despertado con miles de sentimientos encontrados. Uno de ellos era el temor... el temor de encontrarme con un Nick arrepentido. Sería muy doloroso para mí que él se arrepintiera, porque había resultado maravilloso, encantador y fortuito, entregarme
al hombre que amaba una vez más. Por esas razones me marche antes de que el despertará, dejándole sólo una nota... "Perdóname, que yo te olvidare ______ Solivans" quería decirle tantas cosas pero, lo más apropiado era unas sencillas palabras, sencillas aunque, en mi corazón resultaban significativas. Temía permanecer un segundo más en esa habitación, si lo hacía me quedaría y sería mi perdición.
Olvidaría a Nick, tenía que olvidarlo a cualquier costo. Por eso me había planteado recorrer al mundo entero, que todos conocieran mis diseños, dejar el nombre de S&V muy en alto. Mi primer destino fue Londres, una ciudad encantadora que tuve la oportunidad
de visitar unas veces anteriores, en compañía de mi padre y Eloise. Permanecí cinco meses en ella. En mi cuarto mes en dicha ciudad, empecé a sentirme extraña. . . Tenía repentinos momentos de ansiedad, pero inmediatamente perdía el apetito. Todo esto lo asocié con mis problemas pasados de trastornos alimenticios... Pero luego sufría depresiones momentáneas y sorpresivos momentos de alegría. Ya se tornaba algo preocupante, y aún más con mi ganancia de peso.
Decidí acudir al médico, por supuesto ya con una sospecha en mente. Era lo bastante madura para saber que ocurría cuando
tenías relaciones sexuales y no usabas ningún tipo de protección. Aún albergaba la esperanza de que todas mis sospechas fuesen falsas. Había acudido a la cita médica sin falta, solo para confirmar mis sospechas:
-Está usted embarazada- confirmó el doctor. Esas palabras resonaron en mi mente, como eco “Esta usted embarazada “, ahora que se suponía que debía hacer con mi vida. Todos mis sueños, todos mis planes, no incluían un niño, un bebe… mi bebe. -¿Cuánto tiempo?- susurre incrédula –veinte semanas- me confesó -¿Qué?- me altere, cinco meses algo iba mal, instintivamente coloque las manos sobre el pequeño bulto que empezaba a formarse en mi barriga. -Algo anda mal, ¿no es cierto?- murmure temerosa, ahora que me había aferrado a mi pequeño a mi bebe temía no tenerlo conmigo –Es un embarazo riesgoso- me sujete aún más el torso, una lagrima resbalo por mi mejilla –Se puede solucionar con reposo- mi voz aún era temblorosa producto de los sollozos contenidos en mi garganta –Lamentablemente ese no es su caso- el doctor hizo una mueca, sentí que me daban una cachetada; jadee pesadamente- Que quiere decir- replique, un escalofrió me recorrió la espalda, a mi bebe
no le podía pasar nada. – El bebe tiene muy poco peso- sentí como una daga me perforaba el corazón –Se.. se puede hacer algo- tartamudee.
Desde ese entonces había tenido un cuidado especial con mi embarazo. Comía, así no tuviera hambre. El doctor me había proporcionado unas vitaminas y demás pastillas que tomaba sin falta. Toda mi vida había cambiado desde el momento en que supe que tendría un bebe, me había aferrado a él como el aire que necesitaba para respirar. Viviría solo para él o ella.
Ahora ya tenía 8 meses de embarazo y el bebe
afortunadamente había ganado su peso ideal. Yo seguía igual de flaca y aún el embarazo era riesgoso, así que no trabajaba en exceso. Por ahora me encontraba camino a tomar un vuelo a España, un gran privilegio para mí… Me sentía muy orgullosa, no lo hubiera logrado sin Dalye y Eloise, que discretamente me mantenían al tanto sobre la vida de Nick, aunque no me decían nada en concreto. Según ellas Nick se encontraba de viaje desde hace mucho tiempo. Era muy confuso todo,
por momentos quería saber de Nick pero, en el mismo instante desechaba la idea… no había logrado olvidarlo y eso me carcomía por dentro. Aún no sabía cuál sería el sexo del bebe, quería dejarlo en misterio hasta su nacimiento.
Mi papa era feliz con la idea de ser abuelo, al fin tendría un nieto –Heredero-; según él. Yo no era feliz con la idea de que se criara con los mismos pensamientos de mi padre pero, aún así tendría muchísimo amor… Por supuesto, él respeto mi decisión de no decirle nada al aludido papá de mi bebe. Eloise era una perfecta tía-madrina, incluso estaba más entusiasmada que yo y la amaba por eso. Me cuidaba
inexorablemente, de hecho ahora me acompañaba a todas partes. No podía decirle que no, la terquedad era un
carácter dominante en la personalidad de Eloise.
-Llegamos- Anunció Eloise –Tan rápido- la mire -_____ llevamos horas aquí sentadas- enfatizó la palabra horas –Supongo que no preste atención- suspire –No- replico – ¿Como esta mi bebe?-. –Bien Eloise, bien- repuse cansada. –Vamos- -Vamos- susurre.
